My Favorite Genealogy Story: The colorful family of Dale O. Duncan

My Favorite Genealogy Story: The colorful family of Dale O. Duncan

I’m a genealogist and loving it.  This is one of my favorite stories.

The following story is from the MyGenShare.com Archives of the Everton Genealogical Helper as told by Maxene Shattuck Duncan in July 1988.

In recent months I have been researching my husband’s ancestry. One day I realized he had a colorful family.

He has the following “crayon surnames”: White, Gray, Black, Brown, Green and Orange.

Yes, Jonah Green married Mary Brown and they resided in White County, Illinois. Their grandson, Edward Grant Green married Cora White; Eben Nelms Black married Mary Jacqueline Green; William Henry Black married Abby Dove Orange and Thomas Henry Gray married Neva Janette Lane.
